Putting Your Best Foot Forward
Updated: Oct 26, 2021

Putting your best foot forward means taking a step in the right direction. But right now, that means any foot, in any direction.
Being in business, especially starting one, is like a baby. Hey this is where #ItsBusinessBaby really comes in handy.. anyway. Like babies, businesses need to be fed, watered, nurtured, tended too, and eventually there's going to be that #FirstStep. It's inevitable. It's going to happen - it's gotta happen!
When? where? how? So many questions! Yes it's important to put your best foot forward but right now.. just pick any damn foot! Right, left, whatever, pick one. Take that foot and start walking! After you start walking you will come to realize that one foot is better than the other. Maybe it's your left, maybe you've discovered you have two left feet, or ol' righty was the right choice all along. Just pick up those feet and go. Once you have a grasp of which foot is your best one - put it out there for all to see! Now I'm not saying you all go and take a picture of your foot like I have, but show it loud and show it proud.
It's intimidating. Putting yourself out there requires a lot of risk and sometimes not always reward; not right away anyway. You feel vulnerable, you feel like you are flashing off your shiny new degree, education, and you are conscious of always coming across like a know-it-al. Hey, speaking from experience here. But what I've come to learn is that less than 1% of the population actually believe those thoughts you are having. If you have anxiety or are familiar with it, you'll recognize these as #ThoughtDistortions. TD's are nasty little things that distort reality and convince you that irrational thoughts are in fact, real and happening. It's not to say that sometimes there isn't some truth in nature, especially if something has happened that has led you to believe this.
I know it's easier said than done, coming from a person of spontaneity, but if you need to get something done, just start with those #BabySteps and you will figure out which foot is your best foot; then you can put it forward!
After all, #ItsBusinessBaby.
